Out of Hibernation
 Monday, 4/19/10

Spring has arrived and I am slowly creeping out of hibernation. Me and all my huge brown Grizzly friends. Actually, I have been far from hibernating. I have had a very active fun winter. Thats right. I took on winter in Idaho and I enjoyed it! Don't give me any lip about how mild it was either, it was FREAKING COLD.

I started Cross Country Skiing. This was because my Aunt Cynthia says to me over Thanksgiving, "I have skis, I will ship them to you, a gift". Thanks! So I go rent a pair a couple of times, take on the tundra and wipe out enough to realize it's pretty fun. Then the UPS store wanted a zillion dollars to ship skis and before I know it, I own a brand new pair of XC skis. I made the most of them during March, skiing almost every weekend. As it started warming up and the snow got crusty you could really venture out and see signs of animals, carcasses and tracks oh my!

I am almost sad I wont be able to ski for a while, but it is replaced with hiking and bears. Ill take the trade.

I have also been cooking. Yes, you read that right. No, your computer doesn't have a virus. No, my blog has not been hacked. I have been cooking. Desserts! Pretty funny considering I don't have a sweet tooth. Here is one dessert I made on a challenge. Its a chocolate torte with ganache. I don't even know what that is, nor do I like chocolate, but I worked it out! I have had to buy a lot of kitchen ware. Martha and I are tight now. Besties.

My blog was down and out a while, but I got the technical issues resolved and we should not have a problem now. A lot of other things happened over the winter, like Melissa had her beautiful baby. Caleb. I will post all of his photos this week. I have also been getting busy with babies of my own. No, not MY OWN, but photographing the cuties in town. Simmer down now. I will post several of those sessions in the coming weeks.

I also moved outside of Idaho Falls to a town called Swan Valley. I love it!!! Its a little bit of a drive, but now I am closer to the Tetons and getting used to small town life. I will keep office hours of Mon-Thurs.

One thing I love about living a little further out is my birds. I have bird feeders everywhere and the birdies are right at home! So far I only have Pine Siskins, House Finch and Cassin Finch. I see lots of Mountain Bluebirds among others that are not bird feeder lovers but still beautiful. I also have big picture windows they like to run into. :( So far only one fatality and he is buried in the bird garden. Here is a photo of one who hit the window, but was quickly recovered. I snapped him before he gained his senses. This is a Cassins Finch.

Im also gardening. I know, you can't stand it. I used to be Blonde and Dangerous and now Im HGTV. Its sad. But we adapt to our surroundings, right? I have no Al Biernat's, give me my fresh veggies. It's too cold to plant yet, but I am working on raised beds. I am building three. Here is one that I still need to fix up and it's upside down. I am planting a massive amount of Dahlias in this one. And yes, I did say it's too cold to plant. I am screaming Spring, but we have not had our last freeze. We could possibly get snow this week despite the fact it was 70 today.

To sum it up, I LOVE IT HERE. I am having the time of my life, making great new friends and enjoying the great outdoors. I am staying and Kevin owes me a pair of Manolos. Who wouldn't spend a year in Idaho to get a pair of Manolos? A small price to pay. I may have traded my heels in for THESE, but I will still take THESE KJ.

Stogie loved the snow a little too much. Now that it has melted he hits the grass and just stares at me, not wanting to move. He could not get enough of the snow. I have never seen a dog hate grass so much. Goldie just loves to be outside. Sun, rain, snow, sleet, the dog would be outside 90% of the time if given the chance.

I'll be posting more all week! :)

Big D
 Wednesday, 9/2/09

This past weekend I went home to Dallas for my best friends baby shower. It's probably too early to mention how she CHEATED and is having a baby without me. We had this grand scheme to have them at the same time, IF we both decided to have children. Well thanks for letting a sister know! Im sort of in between life plans right now, with picking up and moving across the country BY MYSELF. Should I start taking ads out for a baby daddy? In the Idaho Falls Post Register? I don't think that will go over well here.

The shower was great. It was beautiful! I wish I could have hosted it for her, but it was questionable if I would even be able to go. We played games, talked baby names, ate and spent a great afternoon with friends on a gorgeous Dallas day. It did make me homesick. There is no place like Dallas.

A lot of people tried to convince me to come home. Its comforting to know that people miss you, and I would love nothing more than to be with my friends everyday again. Newly single, Dallas would be a lot of fun. Maybe too much fun for a girl trying to get her business together. I am loving it here in Idaho. No one understands that, but at any given moment I can be in the middle of the park watching a moose walk through my campsite. I gave up Neiman Marcus to watch moose at sunrise!!!! I might need help. I do get extremely homesick and I spend a lot of nights alone talking to the dogs. I am happy with my decision and I am going to work very hard to make things work here. ALTHOUGH I miss my heels and dresses and eating out at the most fabulous places SO MUCH! My heels are very neglected.

My shopping has come to a sudden halt, but I have great friends who fill the void. My birthday present arrived from Dawna, and I LOVE it. Perfect for the wilderness. More apologies for the blackberry photography.

Fall is APPROACHING!!!! That means new TV and FOOOTBALLLLLLLLLLLL. Preseason people!!! It's PRESEASON! It does NOT MATTER! That is what I have to say about that. I can't even watch all the Cowboy games here which is a crime. I think this is OUR YEAR. Romo is stepping up this year and the Cowboys will go far. Just watch. If you get them on TV, which I don't. Please text me Sunday scores. :)

Fall TV... I am behind on Project Runway, one of the best shows on TV. I did catch up online which is not the same. I need to see the nutty diva behavior and hideous fabric ensembles on a big flat screen. I don't see anyone wonderful like letha loving Stella yet, but there are some characters on this season. I started the blog with a pregnancy post and I will end with one. A man designed this. He had visions of eggs and feathers and chicken thighs ( wtp?????) to celebrate pregnancy. This was his egg outfit. For the love of all pregnant women, help HIM. Maybe he is mad at his mother? As he was getting the boot, he said he still has a voice. I hope that voice tells him to NEVER DESIGN MATERNITY CLOTHING AGAIN! EVER! NEVER!

Heidi's insults in a german accent are priceless. "Its one thing to think outside of the box, another to miss it completely." OUCH! And Nina Garcia who doesn't need an accent. Her looks say it all. She is the queen of insultive expression.

Famous Potatoes
 Friday, 5/15/09

That is what the license plates say... Famous Potatoes. I have moved to Idaho. This year has been difficult and full of changes. My dad died in March.. then my grandmother died a month later. I packed up my possessions, moved out of my house and across country to a state where I know no one. NADA. Not a soul. My parents helped me pack the U-haul and we drove the long roads of Texas, Oklahoma, KANSAAAAAAAAS ( which never ended) and then Colorado.. right into Idaho. I drove one Uhaul, my step dad drove one and my mom drove my truck. They helped me move in and unpack and I could not have done it without them!

There has been more than one moment where I have paused and said, What the H E double hockey sticks am I doing?! Who moves to Idaho? However, things seem to be falling into place. I have enjoyed the time alone and getting my head together. The dogs love it.

Why Idaho? Close to the parks. That sums it up. I tried to find the largest city within driving distance to some of the best parks in the country. Wyoming and Montana are pricey and Idaho Falls seems to be reasonable with a lot of families, so I can operate my studio. Babies and Bears.. is that too much to ask? No.

I rented a house and studio and have to make another trip to Dallas to get the rest of my stuff. Another U-haul. Sigh. Avoiding Kansas this time. No offense. Blogging shall resume this week...

There is no Chick Fil A in Idaho Falls. You know, the place I had lunch every single day...
There is no La Madeline in Idaho Falls.....
There is no Neiman Marcus in Idaho Falls... OK this is a good thing. Im on a severe budget now.

I have learned of this thing called wind burn? My face appears to have a sunburn.. but it was not hot and there was no snow. Its from the wind. Its horrid.

Today it was in the 60's and everyone was out and about wearing shorts.. biking.. running.. enjoying the outdoors. I think when the weather is bad most of the year, you appreciate the good days more. When I left Texas, it was in the 90's.

There is no Professional Football in Idaho Falls.
Tony Romo will visit, I have faith.

The Dallas Cowboys ARE In Idaho Falls because I saw a truck two houses down with the famous blue star on the back. :)

a swift sunday
 Sunday, 3/15/09

Isn't it a great morning for a little Taylor Swift? This is what I sing to the dogs in the morning, making breakfast. They know all the words. I thought it would be a fun song to post on this rainy ( its STILL RAINING!) Sunday. I will be posting some more sweet polar bear babies tonight. I have been gone a lot this week, and behind on blogging. That will change!

Make me a fire
 Monday, 1/5/09

As every other year, I celebrated the New Year in Hawaii with friends and family. The trip started off in the dark, literally. Just arriving in town, exhausted after a long flight, and already planning my dinner, the town went dark. All of Honolulu was in the dark. We saw lightening which is very rare there, although the electric company will not confirm what was the cause for a 14 hour blackout. Yes FOURTEEN hours. No filet mignon for the girl on the 15th floor. With Obama in town, the city officials were going nuts making sure he was OK. He is a very calm individual, he declined the many offers of generators and just went to bed early, as did all the rest of Honolulu.

I was lucky this trip to have my parents along. The three of us were content sitting on the beach all day, soaking up the sun and doing a lot of nothing!

Last year, Lori, Sids sister, got me a bracelet from her Chinese Jeweler. It was a crystal which was supposed to balance out my fire. I am year of the rabbit, and Frank, the jeweler, each year maps out the forecast for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Last year was bleak, it actually said I needed to sleep a lot and try to battle through. It was no joke, a very difficult year indeed.

You would think this would be a sunnier year for us rabbits.... right? NO! Its worse. The forecast calls for a lot of stress and worry, poor fortunes, and not so good in the relationship category. Well I could SEE THAT COMING! I told Mcgrew, who is also a rabbit, and she says "just give me the good news"... there was silence. "There has to be SOMETHING good". Um...he says to wear a lot of pastels... like pink... to upift the spirits and help with worry. She owns a lot of pink, this was good news.

I have to avoid the west.. it is where all my bad energy is coming from. I must not disrupt the west walls of my house, and I have to add some fire this year. I need fire.. that is what Frank said. A few of my friends may find it hard to believe, he is adding fire to moi!!!!! Being both a water sign in the Chinese zodiac... and our more common zodiac.. ( a July cancer/crab) no wonder I love to swim so much!

I am not sure what Tony Romo is, but even Frank would not be able to help him. FIRE! Dear Tony you need MORE FIRE!!!!! I cant even discuss the game, Frank told me I needed to work on balancing my stress and learn to relax. HA!

The good news is my friends Dawna and Kori who I also have addicted, are going to have a much better year. Dawna can wear brown again, so she can quit lying and calling it mocha, caramel, espresso... etc. Kori is all happy and in love and well its sickening, but good for her. ALL of my other friends who are the same age as me, you know 29, well buy some extra vino and don't go West my friends!!!!!

If you want to find out your sign, look here. Chinese Zodiac

I hope everyone had a safe and exciting holiday. My new years resolution is to play my banjo more. I am working on scheduling some lessons, and will try to practice everyday. I want to be able to play five songs, really well, by the end of the year. Yee Haw!!!!!!! Here are some New Year photos, ignore the humid..rained on... hair. We got drenched more than once on NYE.

My mom and I.

My annual photo with Roy. The best surfing instructor and a great friend!!! The lei I am wearing is pikake. It smells divine and its IMPOSSIBLE to get them this time of year, but Roys mom, Joyce always manages to find me one. I love her! And I love pikake flower leis.

Jenna and I at dinner. Having her there made my entire trip!

Me, Jenna, Delle. We really entertained ourselves all night. It was great.

Delle and I on take seven or eight.. this was definitely after a few vodka sodas. I mean water with lime.. thats all we drank, water and lime!

This was a good idea at 2am on the rainy walk back. Seeing how macworld is about to begin and I am PRAYING for new laptops to be announced, it is appropriate.

The last night... Jenna and I. Im missing our nightly martinis and water with lime. :)

Happy New Years!!!!!

I heart potatoes
 Saturday, 11/22/08

This blog is dedicated to my good friend KJ, the wedding photographer extraordinaire. Kevin is like my brother so I can give him grief. He uses my studio on occasion and you should check out his recent NY engagement session and the Dallas Stars Ice girls, ( who were all in my liviing room!) on his BLOG. However, we currently have two bets going. Two top secret bets, and both involve a pair of Manolo Blahniks or an Armani Shirt. Lets just say I wont be buying any Armani shirts. And my little message to him below is to let him know I would like one pair of Manolos as pictured, and the other will be the Something Blue Pair ala Sex and the City. Still available at Saks. :) Kevin, one day I will have a potato garden and will send you a potato that looks like Elvis. I am just sayin.

Now JJ, if you are reading this, that is a SWEET POTATO. I would never eat a real potato, for fear of the earth shattering into little pieces. I heart only sweet potatoes with spinach salad. I am OK with that, because I lost FOUR MORE POUNDS and am in a size six now. I have totally reached my goal but I want to drop 10 more. No worries, I will still be in a size six, because the chia pets, while retreating, are fighting the good battle. I think I have lost 20 pounds since April and I am just now not able to wear some of my clothes because they are TOO BIG. YAY! Finally, I am back into most of the clothes I own. I heart JJ.

It's been the worst of times and the best of times. A crazy, hormonal, roller coaster this last two weeks. The happy sides, I have been able to see a lot of my friends this past two weeks. Last Sunday I went to the Madonna concert with my two BFF's, one new and one old. Not OLD, but we have been best friends forever. She is just 29, I promise. I am too, thats why we get along. :) We ended up with an extra ticket to Madonna and took her friend Maggie who is from Houston and happened to be in town. It was love at first site, we are new besties.

This photo is the only one of about 60 I didn't delete. Crazy girls should not drink tequila. Well, they should, but without cameras present. I knew we were in trouble when the evening started as Melissa was texting Maggie, asking me if you spell tequila with one "L" or two. Who cares. haha. Then Madonna went on TWO and HALF HOURS LATE!!! Ok she is a DIVA and she is 50 and banging ARod, but come ON. Our tequila consumption was totally that divas fault. Then the concert starts, ( finally) and the people behind us were mistakenly thinking they were at a museum. They told us to be quiet!!!! HELLLLO, we are at a concert. My new BFF Maggie almost went Kill Bill on them. We still had fun, no one can stop us from having a good time anywhere.

Another good note for the week, one of my clients and friends who has the cutest kids on earth, blogged about me! Misty has her own blog and she wrote an entry about me photographing her girls the last three years, and it really touched me and was the sweetest thing. It truly made my week. Click HERE to read it. And PLEASE add a comment there and tell her to have more kids. Please. More chunky monkeys. Thank you Misty, you know I adore Lilli and Lola!!!!

On to Music... which all of you know I LOVE. I am always on my computer, either editing, filling orders, reading Perez or talking to my friends. So my music is always going. I constantly send music to my friends, and I actually sent Misty the album I just discovered and LOVE, Ray LaMontagne , Gossip in the Grain. You MUST get it on Itunes. The first two songs, You are the Best Thing, and Let it Be Me are just divine. Plus he kind of looks a little wildernessy, don't you think? Hot.

This current week/months addiction is hands down, Taylor Swift! I know I posted the video of Love Story before, which I still love and have wore out in the ITunes Library, but now that the album has been released its FULL ADDICTION. I am on repeat mode. She is a great singer and writes all of these songs herself at only 18! You can relate whether you are happy or sad or indifferent, its so enabling!

My favorite has to be Hey Stephen. I dont even know a Stephen but it makes me want to meet one. haha. It is such a catchy sweet song. And how many guys have no clue what they have, ummmmmm maybe most?!

My second favorite is Fearless. I love that song, its like Love Story, gives you hope for love and puts you in that happy place. Third, is Change. Its my fight song this month. Its the song you sang in high school on the bus, on the way to a game, ready to conquer the world. This is the song I listen to every single day to stay focused and on my plan. How come I just discovered this girl? Even people who hate country like her songs, and NO DAWNA, I DO NOT NEED AN INTERVENTION. Dont make me throw potatoes at you. Sweet potatoes of course.

The song Change: The lyrics are great.

funniest thing ever
 Sunday, 10/19/08

Amy Poehler killed this! Watch out Kanye. This is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.

freedom to fall
 Tuesday, 10/7/08

This is somewhat of a random post, with a couple of things I wanted to share. I was going to add more Teton photos, but will do that tomorrow. I also have photos of little Jack coming!!!!!

When I was in Anchorage a couple of months ago, we met some military boys at Sullivans steakhouse. They were having a grand time and the fun was contagious. We were surprised to hear they were going to Iraq and having a last hurrah. I found out a couple of them were Texas boys and had Texas tattoos, so I had to get a photo. We ended up buying their dinner and a round of drinks, which does not even come close to what they are doing for us right now. I thought we might get kicked out of Sullivans at one point, when they showed us they all went that day and got happy face tattoos on their butts. The manager turned a blind eye, knowing the situation. If I was being shipped off to Iraq, I would be drunk and rowdy too. Ok, I was drunk and rowdy anyway. I drank for our country!!! I am so thankful for what they are doing for our country and the risk they take on a daily basis. I am in contact with a couple of the guys and will be sending out a goodie basket to them, if anyone wants to contribute. Leave some love for these guys!

He has a cool tattoo, a film strip displaying different things in his life. The Dallas Skyline is the closest to my finger. Ignore my "Im too cool for school" look.

A good ol Texas Boy Tattoo!!!! And... the happy face... we had a lot of laughs over all their toasts.

Good luck guys! Stay safe and Thank you!

I have been listening to a lot of Alicia Keys, and this is one of the songs abusing my speakers many times over. I love singer-song writers... and I think this is a very powerful song. Kinda where my head is these days and tonight more than ever. Music keeps me sane and drives me crazy at the same time, but this song has helped me the last few days. I had a really crappy night, and this song just reinforces how I am feeling. You have to rise above your situation sometimes. I love this You tube, where she says its her mantra and the passion in which she sings it. Its nice when a simple song can turn your day around.

Here are the lyrics:

Life is cheap, bittersweet
But it taste good to me

Take my turn, crash and burn
That's how it's supposed to be

So don’t rain on my parade
Life’s too short to waste one day

I’m gonna risk it all, the freedom to fall
Yes it sure looks good to me

Time passed by and leaves you behind
Take it naturally

Heaven knows (OH) There’s so much more
More than what we see

So don’t rain on my parade
Life’s too short to waste one day

I’m gonna risk it all, the freedom to fall
Yes it sure looks good to me

(HEY) Sure looks good to me

Ooh, ooh, oooo, ooohh
Yea, yea, yeaaaa

Ooh, ooh, oooo, ooohh
Yea, yea, yeaaaa

Deep in my mind Im secure we can buy
I wanna see the light before I die or I lie in an empty space,

The darkness comes and I’ve been telling my soul
And me and myself we turn around, we’re getting old,

But the lightning crashing, foolish emotions
From the bruises and the beauty in this moment that we’re feeling,

And I feel like I’m seeing the world inside of me
But I can tell you that I know, it's getting easier to breathe,

There’s a cold in the morning, endless equation
Of who’ve we've become, it’s a complex situation

So live, love, life give love
Live, love, life, give love
Live, love, life, give love
It's who are we anyway

So don’t rain on my parade
Life’s too short to waste one day

I’m gonna risk it all, the freedom to fall
Yes it sure looks good to me

(HEY) It sure looks good to me
(I’m telling you) Sure looks good to me

(YEA) Sure looks good to meeee

Meee, yeaaa
Looks good to me, whoo, yea, yea, yeaaa

On a lighter note, I was tagged not once, but twice, by my good friends Laura and Matt. I don't normally do these things, Im the person who stops chain letters and deletes emails telling me to pass it on or I will meet an evil outcome. But what are friends for, I can play. :)

These are the rules;
1. Link to the person who tagged you Matt, Laura
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write six random thoughts about yourself
4. Tag six or so people at the end of your post
5. Let each person know he or she has been tagged
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is posted

Random Thoughts About Me:

1. I own the entire DVD collection of Hee Haw
2. I hate English Peas and it bothers me when other people eat them. (DAWNA)
3. I think Crocs should be illegal, I dont care if they are comfortable.
4. I was voted most likely to write a book by my sixth grade teacher. ( back when I had good grammer skills.:)
5. I love my friends too much
6. I own six billion pair of sunglasses. And melon panties. hehe

Now, for those I'm tagging; be careful out there because YOU'RE IT!!

Im tagging:

Misty: My super friend/client who has the cutest kids ever and really needs to get pregnant again.
Kevin: The best wedding photographer who tagged me before, so paybacks a beaaach.
Aly: Taught me everything I know and wants to be in National Geographic.
Jeanine: A good mom and extremely funny person, who needs to update her blog.
Tammy Tammy: who I met on my trip and adore.
Kori: Who wont answer but I love and miss her.

This is the other song I have been listening to a lot. For no reason other than its great.

Saving the Chia Pets
 Friday, 8/15/08

I have started a new program, working with a nutritionist, JJ Virgin. My friend Michelle has been using her with success and I was curious to learn more about how certain foods are affecting me. I have a bad reaction when I drink a lot of wines or eat certain foods. Everyone who reads this blog knows I LOVE MY WINE. I just deal with the consequences, but I prefer those go away! JJ has a great book that explains in depth about food and how it affects us on her website, so check it out.

To get with the program I had to buy a scale. I have been very happy not owning a scale. It doesn't take a machine to let me know my ass has grown too big to fit into my skimpy Cavalli dresses. Photos do that just fine. This machine is no ordinary scale. You don't jump on, get the reading, stomp your feet and cuss and then get back on it after removing your bra and panties. Then remembering you had a glass of water before weighing in and that most certainly accounts for 5 extra pounds. This is why I didn't own a scale. THIS SCALE has hand grips that you pull up and measure your body fat. It has a memory. Lovely, a scale with a memory that reminds you about that MACARONI AND CHEESE at AL Beirnats not only went to your hips, but it's now stored in MELISSAS BODY FAT MEMORY! This scale now sits in my pretty earthy bathroom looking like I could travel to MARS at any given time.

The evil machine scale came with a manual. Im sure most do, but you dont read them. I had to read the manual to figure out how to weigh myself. It does so many crazy things, simply telling me how fat I am was not obvious with the buttons.

I also was told to buy this Pedometer It measures your steps and sees how active you are during the day. I started wearing this today right after I got it. As a competitive person, this is a great tool for me. I found myself trying to show that tiny step reader I AM NOT LAZY! So I was walking up and down the stairs, finding excuses to get up. I can not have a low number, remember I am a GLADIATOR! It just took a $20 piece of plastic to get me off my butt, who knew?!

I ordered this xciser thing that I can not blog about until I get it. Sounds promising for a little cardio machine.

And the hormones.. lets discuss the hormones. My two biggest goals working with JJ is to find out why the heck Im starting to react to so many different foods and how to get my lovely hormones under control. When the Gymnastics and Oprah make you cry on the same day.. it is time to get help. My gyno ( who is cute.. so I like to go see him) just tries to force Birth Control on me, which does not fly with me. Plan B... he gave me Valium for my PMS. Yes Valium. Sending me a message to stop coming here and bitching to my cute face and just pass out and sleep through it. It goes down great with some vino.

Needless to say, I needed other methods. My hormones must be a force of nature, since I have had a breast reduction and was planning on getting another next month. Like Chia Pets, with love and food they just grow and grow. I am now putting the surgery on hold and am trying natural supplements and food to control how my body is.

THE POINT to all of this: I am going to blog my experience and my progress. I have to say Im very skeptical about the entire process, but I know my way has not been working. I have never been one to take a ton of supplements but maybe I need to be more open minded. I cant work out and eat great for two weeks just to self sabotage for a week straight of PMS hell which includes an IV of Queso. I am going to put it ALL out there, my weight, measurements, everything.

I started the program last Friday, however my supplements, smoothie stuff, scale and pedometer only arrived today. I thought I would start documenting when I had my arsenal of supplies ready to go. This week has been slow on the workout front due to contractors RIPPING OUT ALL OF OUR FLOORS DOWNSTAIRS! Talk about a nuisance, my fridge, stove and dishwasher are now in the garage. Not to mention my trainer is on his honeymoon this week,
(cograts Garrett!!)

Wish me luck, I have been off Dairy ( I have no idea why? I do what I'm told) and Diet Dr. Pepper for one week now. I finally quit craving the Diet Dr. Pepper yesterday. I don't drink a lot of them, but even one a day was missed. ( Dawna, I am sure Pepsi is the ONE exception to all evil softdrinks. Don't worry! And if you talk to JJ, you might want to refer to Pepsi as Green Tea! HAHA) I also have laid off the vino for several days. Still having the occasional martini. Stay tuned!

My weight at the start: 152 ( Its muscle people!!! )
Body Fat according to the evil machine, "TEM" 33% ( Lets blame the chia pets)
Measurements will be forth coming when I figure out how to do it correctly.

UPDATE I wrote this blog on Friday and it is now Sunday and I have lost TWO POUNDS! Since Friday when I got the scale! So now 150! YAY!

I-babysitter
 Sunday, 8/3/08

My 7 year old niece, Delaney, is visiting me for a few days. She thinks this might be her first trip into Dallas.

Delaney: How do they build all these buildings SOOO big and tall?
Me: Its very hard work
Delaney: They must have big ladders and build a little at a time! It must take them over a week!

I remember my first impressions of Dallas and driving in and seeing huge buildings. Its very spectacular for a child. You imagine what kind of people are busy working and living in these overwhelming skyscrapers. The energy can be addicting. I still love driving downtown, especially at night when the town is lit up.

Back to the child.. we hit up Target to invest in some swim toys and spent most of the day in the pool. A healthy dinner of Pizza and chips, and now she is being the perfect little child. We have a big day tomorrow planned at the American Girl Store. More to come..

If kids are this easy, it may be a no-brainer!
Apple invented the IPod, the IPhone, and now the IBabysitter! I love it!
