Thankful for Romo
 Dear Tony Romo      Monday, 11/26/07

Dear Tony Romo,
Wow. I am so thankful this holiday season that you look so good in football pants are an amazing quarterback. You and T. O. are unstoppable! I really think he should be best man in our wedding. I did read the press on you and J. Simpson munching on turkey together over Thanksgiving. That was such a great way to throw off the paps about our relationship. We all know she hates football after her lack of enthusiasm of all sport related events on her MTV show. You would never last. She doesn't love you like I do. She probably doesn't have an unwashed jersey that has pushed the Cowboys to Ten and freaking one! I have faith in you this Thursday. Lets think football and not about hair extensions that went out of style over a year ago! Loves you T...

the plague
 Hot Air      Wednesday, 11/21/07

Send me to Molokai with the lepers. Its confirmed, I do indeed have MRSA. My staph infection...now referred to as the hole is actually healing very nicely. I will tell you when McDreamy told me " Oh by the way, you have to take out the old gauze and repack new gauze everyday, " I thought, OK, no biggie. He didn't make it sound dreadful, just kind of a casual tone. Like something I could do in a Hills commercial break. ( If I were to watch it on cable and not my wonderful, sought after, life changing, commercial-free Apple TV)

Well Holy Ravioli Mother of God, it was DREADFUL! That can not even describe it. If having babies even comes close, I would have my tubes tied. I have a tolerance for pain. I have had some insane things done. This was PAINFUL. Hold a pillow over your head and scream while your lovely other half rips stuck gauze out of your new wound kind of PAIN. I was cussing his name like a woman in labor cussing her baby daddy.

The relief I felt when it was over, was overshadowed by the anxiety of thinking of the next days gauze removal. Dreadful. In my excruciating pain, I did manage to take photos for my friend Laura who is weird that way. I tell her, Im in hell. She says, " Take Pictures ". Yes, she is a photographer. McDreamy informed me today at my checkup, the wound packing would continue another week. It has gotten much better and I can bear it without a mini diva fit.

Enough about the weeks worst events. On a better note, its CHRISTMAS! I am putting up decor tomorrow, on Thanksgiving. I will have at least one tree up and Dept 56 villages everywhere! Mini towns all over my house. I have been slaving away in the kitchen all day. Don't be silly, I don't cook. We are having it catered. Thanksgiving is like Christmas Eve of Holidays. I tried to hit Starbucks up in the Tom Thumb... the day before Thanksgiving... not smart! I could not even get a parking spot. I had to go to another one... but I was ok with that. True addicts never give up. And with the cold weather and the red cups out, I am in full worship.

I hope it snows tomorrow. I still have NOT forgot my Polar Bear/Canada trip where it was REALLY cold. I loved it, but this just isn't cold! Speaking of... the National Geogrpahic Web Cams added the Polar Bear Cam. You can watch them live in Churchill daily. Here is the link. Polar Bear Cam

I did a Polar Bear shoot yesterday to celebrate the one year anniversary of my trip. Do you recognize any of these four bears?

And Mr. Santa Stogie... can you believe they do this????

On a serious note, I am very *thankful* for my doctors and how they reacted so quickly. We have all been reading about the people who have been less fortunate from MRSA. I will make another more informative post in the next week. Even though this is the rage on the news, I have actually had it for a couple of years. It was more not knowing what it was and now it is getting worse. However, that could be the case for many people. My next step is to see an ID doctor and try to get rid of it. At least take preventive measures for my trip to Africa.

I look forward to a great holiday with my family and of course, Mr. Romo! ( I will be writing him in the morning. ) Happy Holidays!!!!

a mcdreamy day
 Hot Air      Thursday, 11/15/07

I know I have not posted this week much. I have been somewhat under the weather. I got an infection on my stomach which quickly turned into Staph. On Sunday I thought a spider bit me, as it looked just like that. I thought, "Not again!".

A day later it got a lot worse so I went to the Doc who put me on heavy meds. It was so sore, I am surprised how much your stomach is involved with all movements. Two days after that..heavy meds it just gets worse. Today I got to see the doctor and then quickly after that the surgeon, who cut it away and drained it. I know, gross. Now I have a small hole in my stomach and taking some nice medicine. I asked the doc to go ahead and drain more, we could just do the infection/lipo special. He didn't go for it. He was a CUTIE though, so it can distract one from glaring at the needles. Just like McDreamy. I swear all the cute docs in this office, they got a mini Greys going on. I bet there is lots of drama. :)
( Probably not, but isn't it fun to think about?)

Ill be fine and just wanted to let everyone know where I have been. They are not sure what caused it and now think last year it wasn't a spider either. Very same episode but on my arm. My Dr. thinks MRSA but we won't know for a few days. It's some relief to have some random condition than to fear that poisonous spiders are on safari across my body.

Just to make this photo blog about photos, I did set up a Flickr account. I am sure everyone on the planet is using Flickr and I am just now loving it. I LOVE Flickr! You upload your photos, and basically put tag lines so people can search. You have "friends" who see when you added new photos, and also comment on them. You can also upload high resolution photos and share those with people if you enable it. Its free, but I quickly upgraded to the pro version. Its ONLY $20 a year. Its a great way to organize your photos and who DOESN"T like feedback? Let's face it, we are ego driven maniacs when it comes to our art, so we love people to tell us how great we are! The comment feature is wonderful. You can put in any phrase and search, you will see some great photos from people across the world.

Here is my Flickr page so you can see what I have put up.

Here are some of the photos you will find over there that were taken back in the days before the blog.
Alaska: Sled dogging! It was awesome.

Glacier Bay in August. Ice was just floating on the water, it was gorgeous.

And one of Goldie when she just a pup! Go check it out. Ill post more babies when I can move.

Are you ready for some football????
 Dear Tony Romo      Sunday, 11/11/07

Dear Tony Romo,

I am sure you check my blog right before taking the field. I wish you all the luck and good fortune today.
Your play last week was outstanding. At the end of the game you put on your little toboggan and smiled with your cute dimples, you looked absolutely delicious! That was the second best moment to you beating the crapola out of the Eagles. I cant STAND the Eagles and you came through!!!! Lets have some New York Strip today! I will update after the game.

Sunday Football, Fried Chicken and watching me some Romo. Does it get any better????

UPDATE....
ROMO... can you knock some of your guys upside the head??? The penalties... the STUPID penalties. One just cost us three points and made us go into the half tied!!! Seriously! But you look great... don't let them get you down. That number 57 better be glad the Big Tuna is not here anymore. He may have killed him. Unsportsman like conduct right before the end of the half! Are you kidding me?!

UPATE.....

T.O. Is ON FIRE! I am so impressed with him this season. Maybe he started going to practice? I still have my T.O. jersey. I gave up on him last year when he gave more interviews than he caught passes. I am glad I didn't burn the jersey. Nice to see the comeback.... Cowboys kicking butt in the second half.

UPDATE....

WOO HOO My Boys are looking good. Can you say EIGHT and ONE! :)
Romofabulous!

Grey Friday
 Hot Air      Friday, 11/9/07

Its's Friday night. The internet is not working nor is the cable. I am ok because I have Apple Tv. I am in love with this Apple Tv. LOVE. I can download TV shows or movies via Itunes and watch it on my big flat screen. Thats right, I am sitting here in my jammys with a glass of wine watching Greys Anatomy on a Friday night, commercial free. Bliss.

It's just a little box the size of a cd player that connects to your tv and your computer just sends the shows wirelessly.
I can watch The Hills over my morning oatmeal. It has changed my life. Everyone needs one. If I could buy every show I watch on Itunes, I would.

The device that changed my TV life:

Me watching McSteamy ( my favorite ) on my huge TV, interruption free.

After a long day preparing holiday orders and crying babies, the little things make me happy.Knowing I was on my own tonight, I went to the grocery store and then to the book store. Here is my happy place: Fresh flowers, nice wine, chicken and US weekly. Surely you didn't think I was so happy I was going to cook. And OLIVES! The new-to-me local store has an Olive Bar. Different Olives purchased by the pound. I picture these kind of things in heaven, yet I have them right next door.
Here is a photo of my perfect evening.

I also hit up the book store because I have ran out of material. I am a big reader, both normal and audio books. I took a photo to give you an idea of where I am at right now. Can you tell I am having some " I need to get in shape" issues. Look at these books.... Watch Oprah Much?!

Normally I only hit up the biography section and the Nature Section along with a couple of photoshop magazines. They only come out with new bear books so often, but I did find this intriguing Alaska book that I have never seen.

Yesterday I took a shot of Goldie in a new bed I bought from Dawna.( Here is her link: Click Here) I am going to use this for newborns. I will end with this lovely princess and go back to my US weekly. Love the weekends.

 Crazy Dog Lady      Wednesday, 11/7/07

It's been way too long since I added to the Crazy Dog Lady category. I never posted the dog portraits I took at the Havanese National back in August. I had to wait until our Havanese Hotline magaize came out with the Breed Winner before I showed off the photo of Vallee. The others were dogs I photographed for friends. I think this shows the variety of the Havanese breed in color and size. Taking dog portraits is not that different from babies. Sometimes they cooperate and sometimes they don't. They usually pee on your backgrounds and won't stay still.

The below outdoor shots were fairly challenging. I photograph the winner after the show ends, and before people leave. So I can't be particular about the time of day. This was in Denver, Colorado. As soon as I set up in a nice area by the pool, it started pouring. In a hurry to get to a new location before the dogs and owners came out, we had to hustle. Finally we set up in the front of the hotel that was under cover. I was standing in the rain to get a lot of these and the wind was blowing fairly fierce. I can't tell you how many times we had to brush the hair back into place or how many wind blown shots I have. A lot of the dogs have handlers who show them and they are obviously very particular about the way the dog looks and with good reason. So imagine battling the dogs attitude, the handlers expectations and the rain and the wind. And about 5 people talking to me. Thank goodness my friend Diane introduced me to a drink called the Car Bomb at the bar. :)

Here is Vallee, whose breeder Kathy has now become a friend. Her website is BellaTak Havanese

Vallee is a gorgeous havanese who won Best of Breed at both the National Specialty and a Regional that was held the day before. Amazing!!! She has since gone on to win some Group competitions, beating all the other Toy breeds. And she has just begun.

This is Tequila and YoYo.
YoYo is Stogies half brother. He was showing at Westminster along with Stogie and their daddy Noah.

This is Jester, a dog owned by my friend Katie in California.

And here is Fenway. I know I put him on the old blog when I posted the photos of me showing. I wanted to place him here also to show the color varieties. He is a gorgeous and rare red color.

And we have Noche and Promise, owned by friend Nancy in Kansas.
Promise is also a Noah baby and a half sibling to Stogie. We have a big doggie family! :)

I could not skip Stogie. ( Goldie didn't go to the National, she is a retired princess)
This photo is hillarious to me. He can NOT see with his hair down and hates it. This is one bad hair day!

I will be posting every day this week. ( I hope, but I do have lots to post!)

 Portraits      Tuesday, 11/6/07

Grayson has a sister! Welcome little Addison. She is little sister to Grayson whose one year photos I posted a couple of months ago. Addison was ALL girl! She had the attitude and lungs to prove it. It did not matter one bit because she was adorable.

I LOVE her hair and her expression in this photo. We may have a diva on our hands. Thank goodness Grayson is so laid back.

I swear she is smiling here. I can't wait to watch this little diva grow up over the next year. You will be seeing lots more of Addison!
