I know a celebrity
 Hot Air      Thursday, 9/20/07

Yesterday Kori asked me when Hillary was coming back from her vacation to China. Kori, she MOVED to China.
She was shocked of course.. and replied that her assistants take vacations when they get irritated with her and mine move to China!!!! What are you trying to say Kori????? Hillary is indeed in China... still no change of heart. She started a blog as a form of creative release. She is a very good writer and blogger, she should have started one much sooner. I was granted permission to share the link, and I know many of you adore Hillary.

Hillary's Blog

My sister in law was named Hotest Local Celebrity by Fort Worth Weekly. Such a great honor for her as a singer. You can hear her music on her current website which leads to her myspace page. ( Unfortunately their very nice website was lost when the hosting company went MIA and out of business along with all the files on their servers. ) They have a critic choice and a readers choice, Mara was named Critics Choice. I know a celebrity now! I am going to follow her around with my camera so she can have her very own paparazzi.

I am heading to Florida to go to a photography class on Saturday. I should have some very interesting photos, as it is being held on the Captiva Islands. The week after I am going to the Yosemite area to photograph Mono Lake. I am hoping some of the fall colors might be out. I have wanted to photograph in this area for so long and I hope to post some wonderful landscapes. Here is a link to learn more about Mono Lake.

Mono Lake

Stogie is at another dog show this weekend...today he went Best of Breed again! YEA!!! Hopefully I have more crazy dog lady stuff to post, there are two shows left. Goldie is doing great and enjoying getting ALL the attention. I am going to start the photo of the day tomorrow! Sorry for the random short post, just more of an update.

Best in Show meets Star Wars
 Crazy Dog Lady      Monday, 9/17/07

I had a great weeeknd. There was a toy show in Dallas where Stogie went Best of Breed BOTH days.
I was so happy! Our local club had some events and socials, so it was a busy weekend.
My friend Dawna came into town from OK and we got to visit, which made it so so much more fun!!!

Here are some actual photos from the show. I have to hide, so Dawna was nice enough to take photos for me.
There are a couple where Stogie is being shown by a guy. That is the group ring and when Lois, ( his handler) wins with more than one dog, she has to find help. A good problem to have!

Here is his trophy from Saturday. Our club had a supported entry, which means they get pretty trophys for the winners ( among other things). I am SO glad Stogie got one, as they are gorgeous. Thanks to Betty White for picking these out.

The actual show does not last long. Maybe 40 minutes for an entry comparable to this weekends. Thats a long time, it is usually a lot shorter. You do a lot of grooming and prep work for a very short period of time. This particular weekend was fun with Dawna being in town and her getting to experience all the crazy behind the scenes stuff with me. People always ask me if dog shows are like Best in Show, the movie. I always reply, with "No, much worse.".

At the photography conventions I go to, the action always takes place in the bar. Well I guess it happens at the dog shows also, but in an entire different light. The bar scene at this dog show I can't quite describe. Although Best in Show meets Star Wars was the best description I heard. It was better than fiction. We saw a woman who makes you buy stock in sunscreen, a guy singing karaoke with a walker. Actually, he left his walker and we were concerned when he busted out the air guitar. Walker, Karaoke Ranger, did not let us down, the show must go on.
And of course SO many other things that I can not possibly post without divulging the guilty. Queen of De Nile was there in spirit if not body. :)

I wish I would have taken photos of the Star Wars Bar. You just HAD to be there.

One reason Dawna came into town, was to get some new photos of these wonderful dog beds she is making.
She made me one, which I LOVE! Here are some photos of her bed and mine.

Here is Eden who is posing in Dawnas new bed, which she named Paris ( not Hilton).

Here is Stogie in my new bed which I LOVE!!!! And yes she is going to sell these. There will be a link before long, but if anyone wants one, just email me. This one is called When Hank meets Swank. ( LOVE IT!!!!!!)

must love dogs
 Portraits      Friday, 9/14/07

Grayson is ONE! How does this happen? My kiddos are growing up...
I always joke in a few years I can start setting up my baby clients with each other. Ok.. many years.. they are toddlers. However, anyone who likes Grayson, must love dogs. He came in with his pop up dog book, ( his fav book) and his stuffed dog. He left the real ones at home, but they will bring them in one day! I adore his parents, they love all animals and are always interested in my latest adventures. I am so lucky to find clients like this that seem more like friends.

Here are a couple from his one year session.

He was only mildly interested in his cake. He poked it a few times and then tried to eat the sprinkles, but he would much rather be playing with his toys.

Now a trip down memory lane... here are some photos from his past sessions leading up to this big One year session.
He just gets cuter and cuter...

 Dear Tony Romo      Thursday, 9/13/07

Just got this e-mail from Kristie ( One of my best friends who lives in Florida) with a title "Representing..." ( Love her!)

Just a reminder where I come from -- see you in a couple of weeks, babe.

 About      Wednesday, 9/12/07

I am a portrait photographer in Dallas. Always on the go. I love to travel and am doing more wildlife and landscape photography.

I love the ocean and I love Hawaii.

My girl... this is what crazy dog people who are photographers do to their dogs..

In Canada photographing Polar Bears. One of my favorite trips ever!

The princess... without the rollers. :) Goldie.

Yes.. Stogie is tortured as much as Goldie. Here is Texan Stogie. Don't call the animal people or Peta on me.

I want to got to Africa every year forever... ( and I want to win the lottery to make that possible.

I have friends who are not only good photographers.. but good at Photoshop. :)

I am learning to play the Banjo!

Twice as Nice
 Portraits      Wednesday, 9/12/07

This is the first time I have photographed twins. I was prepared for anything, and I think we worked it out.
You would not believe their mother, and how great she looks after giving birth to TWO babies! She was gorgeous during her maternity shoot but she is even more radiant now. Must be that glow times two!

New Addition
 Portraits      Wednesday, 9/12/07

I want to start the blog off on the right foot, with lots of baby photos. For those who think I am not working and just a traveling fool...you are only half right. I AM working. Even when I am busy, I have a hard time turning away newborns. You only have a small window to capture them in that innocent small fragile stage. Sometimes they forget they are supposed to be in that window and they scream and yell and poop and pee everywhere. People wonder why I have dogs, they don't scream and yell...

This boy, Jarin, was adorable. He was so good the entire session and made it very easy. Does it get cuter than the scale shot? I adjust the scale after the blankets go on so the weight is his actual weight. 9 pounds of cute!

Jarin was just breaking the poses out..

The First Post...
 Hot Air      Tuesday, 9/11/07

I have moved my blog yet again... and as you can see, we have a very pretty place here. Brock Martin designed a new blog for me and it's fabulous like all the others he created. Thank you Brock! The images are much bigger and the design so much cleaner and easy on the eyes. In honor of the new blog, I plan on posting an entry everyday this week.

I have been fairly busy catching up from the crazy summer. I may start taking a few more appointments slowly, but as of right now, its just current clients.

My Sanity moved to China and I have to stay in control somehow. Yes, Hillary is still in China. I told her to stay here and just eat Chinese food, but she wasn't buying it. I admire her for sticking to her dreams and goals. I don't admire my complete chaotic un organization. Hillary: I even miss the charts!!!! ( well kinda)

I have several trips upcoming. ( Big surprise there! ) I am going to Florida to a photography convention where I get to see Kori again. Since the drama usually travels in her suitcase, I am sure it will be interesting. I should get a quick visit in with the very pregnant Kristie and I can not wait! I am so damn excited about this baby, you would think i was pregnant. I am throwing her a baby shower in October so we will spend plenty of time together then. You will see LOTS of pregnant Kristie photos.

I am also going to Yosemite next month. I have always wanted to photograph Mono Lake, so I am. It may not be the best time of year, but the tourist are gone and it should still be beautiful. And then the biggie... AFRICA. OMGICANTWAIT!

Also... I must mention my boys. MY BOYS! The Cowboys! Love me some Romo! How about those Boys!!!!!! Way to start off the season honey. I mean Romo. He brought the game to the field on Sunday! I am so excited to watch him play this season, we are going to the Super Bowl Baby!!!!!!!!!!

Im leaving this post pinned at the top for a week or so, along with the test image Brock put up. Ya'll probably remember Noah, he has been on the other blogs many times. The quote of the week will be back after I unstick this one.
